College Visits:
Harding Academy does not routinely excuse absences for visits to college or university campuses. Each student is encouraged to use the school breaks built into Harding’s schedule for making such visits. Occasionally, however, a student is required by the college or university to be on campus for an audition, interview, or placement examination. In addition, there are special days hosted by colleges for student visits, or a visit may require extensive travel.
Read below for Harding's policy on college visits:
Usually, these absences may be excused for juniors and seniors only if adequate notice is given (at least one week) and if the student has a good record of grades and attendance. Students and parents should talk to the upper school principal (Mrs. Efaw) to have a college visit excused. Students must complete paperwork from the office of the dean of students to communicate with their teachers at least a week ahead about their absence and must take the initiative to turn in assignments before they go. Upon return from a college visit, the student should present to Mrs. Webb documentation of the visit. A signed letter or form from the college admissions counselor is the usual documentation. The documentation must include the date(s) and time(s) of the college visit.

Admissions Representative Visits on Harding's Campus
Throughout the year, our counseling office will host visits from admissions representatives to meet with interested students. This is a convenient way for students to learn more about prospective universities and explore college options during the regular school day. These events are typically intended for juniors and seniors and will take place in the Stepherson Room during senior high lunch. Students can view a list of upcoming visits in Naviance.
